FeedZcollector support
I want to upgrade to a newer version of FeedZcollector. What do I have to do?
FeedZcollector doesn't supply update-scripts, so sometimes manual actions have to be taken when upgrading to a newer version. Normally this shouldn't be too difficult.
- FIRST check the release notes to see if a specific
action is required before installing a new release.
N.B. If you have to upgrade more than 1 minor version, read the release notes of all the versions in between. - Remove the current installation of FeedZcollector
(via Add/Remove software).
N.B. Note that the configuration file and the MS Access database remain intact. - Make a copy of the config file fcs.exe.config
(default located in c:/Program
Files/FeedZcollector/Resources/) and store it in a safe
place.
- Download the newer version from the Download section.
- Install the new release.
- If additional actions are required after installation
of the new release this will be described in the
appropriate release notes.
- Restart the FeedZcollector service. This is described
in the support page How can I start/stop the
FeedZcollector grabber?
